1. Wat Arun
Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan or Wat Arun is one of the most famous Buddhist temples in Thailand, and also one of the most visited temples in Bangkok. Situated in Thonburi, west bank of Chao Phraya River, this magnificent temple is famous for architectural structures such as Giant statues, the Ordination Hall, the Bell Tower, and many Buddha statues.
- Shooting Tips: We recommend taking the photo of Wat Arun along with the Chao Phraya river, right in front of the temple where it gives the best view. For timing, go either early in the morning or late afternoon until sunset, during which the temple glows beautifully against the sky.
- Restrictions: Visitors are allowed to take photos in any area of the complex, providing they are dressed appropriately (no revealing of shoulders or legs).
- Entry Fee: THB 100 per person.

2. The Grand Palace
The Grand Palace is a complex of building located in the heart of Bangkok city. The palace is former residence of Thai royals during the 1700s till 1925. It is now only used on royal ceremonial occasions and serves as one of the most visited attractions in the city.
- Shooting Tips: We recommend you spend at least 3-4 hours going around the area as it’s a massive complex of buildings, temples and cultural heritage where you can enjoy taking photos in various parts of the place. Selfies are one of the most preferred method at this place. Don’t forget to visit Wat Phra Kaew, which is located just 1-2 min from The Grand Palace. Wat Phra Kaew serves as the site of Buddhist rituals undertaken by the king and royal families, and is often regarded as the most important temples in Thailand.
- Restrictions: Visitors are allowed to take photos in the majority of the area within The Grand Palace. However, you are not allowed to take the photos inside the Wat Phra Kaew.

3. Wat Pho
Wat Pho (also known as Wat Phra Chetuphon) is famous for the huge statue of reclining Buddha and is also one of the largest and oldest Buddhist temples in Thailand. Moreover, it’s also the birthplace of traditional Thai massage.
- Shooting Tips: Here at Wat Pho, you can find many of ancient Buddhist cultural and architectural buildings, paintings and areas. Some of the recommended places to take photos in the temple are Phra Ubosot (main temple in the complex), Phra Rabiang (areas where Buddha statues are placed), Chedis (small and big pointed mounts) and other paintings inside the complex. Be sure to visit the place early in the morning for best view and less crowd.
- Restrictions: there are no restrictions, providing they are dressed appropriately (no revealing of shoulders or legs).
- Entry Fee: THB 200 for foreigners

4. Flower Market (Pak Khlong Talat)
Bangkok Flower Market (also known as Pak Khlong Talat) is the largest wholesale flower market in Thailand. Here, you will find all kinds of flowers like Holland roses, classic pinks, lisianthuses, lilys, tulips, granddioruses and orchids.
- Shooting Tips: We recommend strolling through the market and capture moments of local people carry out their daily routines like selling flowers, buying, interacting, laughing, smiling. You will find all sorts of positive vibes in this place. After that, don’t forget your DSLR or CSC camera to take macro photos of various beautiful flowers. Nearby the Flower Market, you can also visit places like the Museum Siam, one of Bangkok’s most innovative museums, or take photos of the fabulously bright and fragrant decorations at the Floral Café Napasorn, a coffee shop nearby which was inspired by the market’s theme.

5. Yaowarat Road
The Yoaowarat Road is the larger road that covers the area of Yaowarat (Bangkok China’s Town) and is about 1.5 km (0.93 mi) long, 20 m (65 ft) wide. The place is famous for street food and vibrant night market.
- Shooting Tips: Taking the photos at Yaowarat Road during the blue hours in the evening is the best time we recommend. Stroll through the road and capture beautiful moment of Thai locals interacting with each other or capture the neon lights down the road facing northwest direction. Our favorite lenses for night photography is the 24-70mm f/2.8 but general DSLR cameras also work fine too. Be sure to bring your best camera to the street!
- Restrictions: Visitors are allowed to take photos in any area of the road and places (we recommend ask for permissions with the local shop owners for photography in case they don’t allow)

6. Baiyoke Tower
Baiyoke Tower is an 88-story, 309 m skyscraper hotel that was previously the tallest building in Bangkok (now the third tallest). On the 77th floor of the Baiyoke Tower, there is an observation deck with an extra option to the revolving view point on the 84th floor from where you take beautiful photos of a marvelous view over the city and you can even see as far as the Gulf of Thailand.
- Shooting Tips: We recommend you take the panoramic view of the Bangkok city using a wide lens and use tripod to hold the camera for steady photoshoot. Make sure to adjust the aperture size, shutter speed, and ISO to be constant for multiple photoshoots then combine them into one for best panoramic photoshoots, rather than trying to capture them in one go.

7. Wat Samphran
Wat Samphran (also known as Dragon Temple) is nothing like any other temples in Thailand because this unique-looking 17-story building is characterized by the dragon statue that wind around its exterior. Wat Samphran has many places where you can take photos – be it the temple tower itself, the view on the top or the surrounding areas on the ground floors where you can find various animal statues and buildings.
- Shooting Tips: The best photography that can be taken is essentially the temple tower itself. For this, we recommend you use a drone to get the full view of the pink tower. Otherwise, climb up the stairs to the top and take a panoramic view of the city. For timing, we recommend visiting the place earlier in the day or during golden hour for less blown-out photos.

8. Lat Pho Park
Lat Pho Park is a medium-sized public park located right under the Bhumibol Bridge. The park was constructed as a reminder to King Bhumibol’s contribution to the country. Here, you will find local people exercising, playing in the park or sitting by the lake which makes this a serene photography scene to add to your collection.
- Shooting Tips: Besides shooing photos of the surrounding areas and people in the park, The main highlight of Lat Pho Park is the giant King Bhumibol’s statue situated right in the middle of the place in front of the lake. We recommend you use a wide angle lens to capture the front part of the statue along with the widened view of the lake.

9. Maeklong Railway Market
Maeklong Railway Market is a traditional Thai market selling fresh produces in Samut Songkhram region (about 80km outside Bangkok city center). What makes this market special is the rail line that cuts through the market in which a few times in a day, a train runs directly through the market.
- Shooting Tips: The main highlight is during when the train passes and the local vendors move their umbrellas to cover their products. So be sure to arrive at the location at least 10 minutes prior to the train arriving (8:30 AM, 11:10 AM, 2:30 PM, and 5:40 PM). Besides, you can also capture the busy life of the locals during the day, which makes the photograph full of life and joy.

10. Erawan Shrine
Erawan Shrine (formerly called Thao Maha Phrom Shrine) is a Hindu shrine located in Siam Square, the area within the Bangkok city center. The shrine houses a statue of Phra Phrom, the Thai representation of Brahma, the Hindu god of creation. If you’re looking for a religious-photography shooting, then this is the perfect spot to go to as everyday, hundreds of people go to this place to seek blessings and fulfillment in their lives.
- Shooting Tips: There are many possibilities of a photography angle here. Whether it’s using a wide lens to capture the overall view of people and the shrine at night, telephoto lens from the elevated pedestrian path for a frozen closeup moment of the crowd, or use a sturdy tripod to capture the street light and the shrine also gives you the beautiful religious moment as well.
